NRIs Don’t Need an Aadhaar Card

Credit card payment

If you are an Indian national and have been living abroad for more than six months, then it is important to know that you don’t need to apply for an Aadhaar card. Aadhaar cards are issued by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) which was set up in 2009 as a not-for-profit company under Section 8(1)(d) of the Companies Act 1956. The UIDAI is responsible for issuing Aadhaar numbers and providing authentication services such as linking bank accounts with biometric details like fingerprints or iris scans among others.
